• On a Mac, NibNotes could close during an update or a restart and not come back, with nothing said. It now checks that it really reopened, tries again if it did not, and tells you next time you open it.

• If someone asks you not to record, you can now throw the recording away from the NibNotes tray as well as from the recording bar. It asks you to confirm first, and deletes the audio, the transcript and the notes.
• The Hide button on the recording bar works. It used to do nothing. Hiding now tells you the tray has the controls, and the tray can bring the bar back.

• Linking a calendar works again. Pasting a link could report "Stopped looking at that calendar" even when the link was fine, and nothing was saved.
• Entering a calendar link now turns your calendar on by itself, instead of waiting for a separate switch.
• Deleting a meeting works when your notes live in OneDrive, iCloud or another synced folder. Before this the files went but the meeting stayed on screen.
• The same meeting showing up twice from two calendars is now one row.
• Briefs have a shape you can choose, and you can write your own with the headings you want. A brief no longer lists the meetings it was built from, so you can send one on without sharing your calendar.
• Dropdowns show their arrow again, and NibNotes windows use the NibNotes icon.
• On a Mac, switching tabs inside a meeting draws in one step.

• Preparing a brief now asks what it should focus on in one place instead of two. What you typed before pressing Prepare could previously be dropped without warning, and the brief was written without it.
• "Prepare again" starts from what you asked for last time, so you do not retype it.
• The screen that connects your calendar is shorter and says plainly which route is the quickest on your computer, and how long a pasted calendar link can take to catch up.
• If you use your own AI key, running out of credit now tells you to top up with your provider, instead of pointing at a NibNotes billing page that is not where your balance lives.
• The step-by-step calendar instructions are written the way a person would say them out loud.

• On a Mac, an update that cannot reopen NibNotes now tries again, and tells you next time it starts if it still could not. Before this it could leave the app closed after updating with nothing said.
• Settings panels are checked for clipped and overlapping text before every release, so a control can no longer be drawn on top of the label that says what it does.

• Who was on the call is more accurate. A name shown with a company or pronouns after it, like "Amber Lee (Acme)", is now read correctly instead of being dropped, so people on an external client call are named.
• NibNotes no longer says "2 other people" when it has only heard one unnamed voice, and the Who line no longer takes its confidence from the first name in the list and applies it to everyone.
• Fixed: a meeting tile labelled with only a name was ignored, so somebody on the call could be missed entirely.
• Buttons in the reading pane are sized for the text they actually hold, including the bold a tab becomes when you select it.

• One answer to who was in the meeting. The participant list from the meeting window, the live captions, your calendar invitation and the voices NibNotes told apart are now combined in one order of preference instead of four surfaces disagreeing.
• Saving your own AI key tells you what happened: whether it was stored, whether it was rejected, and what to do about it.
• Clearer wording where money is involved, so what you are about to be charged and what you already own are stated plainly.

• Linking a calendar shows that it is working and lets you stop it. Before this the window could sit still for up to thirty seconds with nothing on screen while it read your calendar.
• A calendar link that starts with webcal:// now works whichever way your provider serves it. Apple, Outlook and Fastmail all hand out these links.
• Searching is faster in a large library: typing no longer re-reads every meeting on each keystroke.
• Buttons say they are working while they work, starting with the one you press to pay.

• On a Mac, NibNotes can now tell you whether it has Accessibility permission, and Settings gives you a way to turn it on. Before this the permission could never be read, so the app could not say it was missing.
• The box that appears when you hover a meeting now waits longer, appears only where the text is actually cut off, and no longer follows your pointer down the list.

• The check that confirms NibNotes can hear your computer's sound now works. It had never been able to detect its own test tone, so the result it gave was not meaningful.

• On a Mac, Screen Recording and Microphone are treated as the separate permissions they are, so one being off no longer makes NibNotes report the other incorrectly.
• "I just turned it on" can now be answered with a real check. NibNotes tests whether it can hear your computer's sound, and the test is inaudible so it does not play anything into the room.
• Fixed: a false warning about system audio, and a button that did nothing, both seen on a customer's Mac.

• Notes are clearer. Action items always name who owns them, and a date only when one was actually said. When somebody's exact words matter, a commitment, a condition, a refusal or a figure, the notes quote them and say who said it instead of paraphrasing.
• A long meeting written up by topic now reads as short bullet points under each topic, not paragraphs.
• Notes no longer repeat themselves: a few sections that said the same thing twice have been merged, and unanswered questions are gathered in one place.
• On a Mac, NibNotes now tells you when it is missing a permission it needs, what that costs you, and gives you a button to fix it. Without system audio it records only your voice, so the app says so on the meeting prompt and on the main screen rather than leaving you to find out from the notes afterwards.
• Fixed: on a Mac, choosing Update now could leave NibNotes closed instead of reopening after it updated.

• New note templates, and better ones. There are now eight: General, By Topic, Client Call, Sales Call, One-on-One, Job Interview, Team Meeting, and Just the Notes for a recording that is not a meeting, such as dictation or a talk. They replace the old set, and any template you made yourself is untouched.
• Every template now leads with what you have to do. Action items come first, with who owns each one and a date when a date was actually said, and an Open Questions section keeps anything that was raised and left unanswered.
• Choosing a template tells you what it is for. In Regenerate as..., each one shows what kind of meeting it suits and the sections it will write, and the message that asks before it spends AI credit says the same.
• Notes read more carefully: a number said loosely ("just under four percent") is no longer written as though it were exact, and the notes never open with a second copy of the title.
• A meeting's notes always say who was on the call. When nobody could be named, they say how many people were heard rather than saying nothing, and somebody who was only mentioned is never listed as having been there.

• Automatic updates install themselves again. If "Install updates automatically" is on in Settings, NibNotes updates at your next quiet moment and never during a meeting, and the message in the window tells you it is coming instead of asking. Turn that setting off and it asks first, with Update now and Later, and installs nothing until you choose.
• If you use your own OpenRouter key, NibNotes no longer turns on zero-retention routing for you. It is your account and your choice of model, and the switch is still there in Settings, AI Notes. Anyone 1.0.103 switched on is put back. The built-in AI is zero-retention either way, and that has never been a setting.

• An update now asks before it installs. You get a message with Update now and Later, so an update never starts while you are about to join a meeting. If you do nothing, it installs itself in a few days, never during a meeting.
• The version you are running shows at the top right of the window.
• Light mode has clearer edges: buttons, cards, the selected meeting and the column between the lists all stand apart instead of blending together.
• If you use your own OpenRouter key, NibNotes now asks for zero-retention providers by default, so the provider keeps no copy of your data. You can turn that off in Settings, AI Notes. The built-in AI has always worked this way.

• Fixed: on Windows, the other people in a call could be missing from the recording when the call played through a headset or any speaker that is not the default one. NibNotes now records the sound of every app, whichever speaker or headset it plays through.
• Opening NibNotes is quicker. The window comes back in a moment instead of being built again each time, and it starts up faster.
• Fixed: on a Mac, NibNotes could fail to come back after it updated itself.
• Meeting titles written by the AI now go through a professional review, so a title always reads the way it would on a work calendar.
• The note about live captions on a meeting's About card now reads as a tip, and it is left out when nobody else was heard in the meeting.

• Two plans: $29.99 a year, or $99.99 once for lifetime. The 14-day free trial is the same, and you choose the plan when you start it. If you bought NibNotes before 21 September 2026, you have a lifetime license and nothing changes for you.
• The yearly plan renews until you turn renewal off, in Settings, Account & billing, or from the link in any renewal email. We email you before every renewal. Switch to lifetime for $70 at any time.
• When a yearly plan ends, recording and new notes stop, and every note you have stays readable.
• AI credit left now shows at the top right of the window when you use the built-in AI, with a button to add more.
• Settings, Account & billing shows your credit, auto top-up, card, plan and recent charges on one page. Add any amount of credit from $5 to $50; the fee is shown as a service fee and a processing fee, and it is smaller on larger amounts.
• If you use your own AI key, you can now enter, check and remove it in Settings, AI Notes.
• For the built-in AI, Settings says in bold that your data is not retained or trained on by the AI provider.
• First-time setup downloads the speech and voice models as soon as it opens, both at once. A download that is cut off picks up where it stopped, and every file is checked before it is used.
• While a meeting is being processed, its page shows each step (transcribing, telling voices apart, writing notes) with a progress bar and the time left once it can be measured. The page updates by itself when the notes are done.
• Regenerate as... lets you pick the template for the new notes, and asks before it starts, with what the rewrite costs.
• Transcribing and telling voices apart run at a lower priority, so your other apps stay quick while notes are being made.
• Send feedback is now a short form, in the tray menu and in Settings, General: say whether it is a problem or an idea, add an email if you want a reply, and choose whether to include the app version and Windows or Mac. Only what you type is sent.
• Out of AI credit? The message has an Add credit button, and meetings whose notes could not be written for lack of credit are written as soon as you add some.
• When an update restarts NibNotes while its window is open, the window opens again where you were.
• Plainer messages with a button to fix the problem: the microphone, an update that did not install, and checking for updates.
• The download is about 13 MB smaller.
• Fixed: a meeting in a language with accented letters, such as German, could fail to transcribe.

• Add a meeting by hand. Give it a title, the date and time it happened, and who was there, then add a recording, a transcript file (txt, vtt or srt, with speaker names kept) or your own notes. NibNotes files it under the date you give and writes it up.
• Writing up needs at least a minute of audio or about 50 words, so a single sentence is saved as it is rather than stretched into notes.
• The Transcript tab shows who said each line, using the same names as the About card. Ask and search read those names too.
• The first-run screen now describes the included AI credit as $5, roughly 40 hour-long meetings.

• A note from a Teams, Meet or Slack meeting recorded with live captions off now says, on its About card, that captions would name each line.

• Live captions name who said what. When captions are on in Teams, Google Meet or a Slack huddle, each transcript line gets the speaker the meeting app showed.

• Voices are told apart on your computer, and the AI names each voice from the conversation. Invented speaker labels no longer reach the notes. Settings has a "Tell voices apart" switch.
• An About card on each note shows how the speakers were identified and what the note was built from.
• The purchase screen can take a saved card, a customer being charged is no longer blocked from recording, and a recording failure can no longer stop all later recordings until a restart.
• When notes fail, the app says why.

• Ask is a conversation: your question, the answer under it, earlier ones kept above. It reads only the meetings you ask about and shows how much before sending.
• Search results open, and the filters filter.
